Meet | Conoce a Eva
Eva graduated with their Masters of Clinical Social Work (MSW) from Florida State University (FSU) and later became a Florida Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). They became involved in the field of trauma in 2004 when they began volunteering for their local dual sexual assault and domestic violence certified program. Eva’s healing work has been focused on traditional holistic healing modalities that are responsive to the realities of marginalized communities.
As an educator, Eva’s roles have allowed for the strengthening of direct services and the promotion of more equitable approaches within the social service and mental health sector. They have taught graduate courses at FSU’s College of Social Work and presented at national conferences.
Eva identifies as a queer, multicultural Latinx immigrant, healer, intersectional activist, and all around nerd. Though born abroad, they were raised in Miami, Fl. They enjoy reading fiction and graphic novels, writing, crocheting, herbalism, gardening, and hiking. During their time away from work they can be found spending time with family and community, doing herbalism mutual aid, and making things.
Eva se graduó con una Maestría en Trabajo Social Clínico (MSW) de la Universidad Estatal de Florida (FSU) y luego se convirtió en terapeuta licenciada de Florida (LCSW). Se involucro en el campo del trauma en 2004 cuando comenzo a trabajar como voluntaria para su programa local de certificado doble en agresión sexual y violencia doméstica. El trabajo de curación de Eva se ha centrado en modalidades tradicionales de curación holística que responden a las realidades de las comunidades marginadas.
Como educadora, las funciones de Eva han permitido fortalecer los servicios directos y promover enfoques más equitativos dentro del sector de servicios sociales y de salud mental. Ha impartido cursos de posgrado en la Facultad de Trabajo Social de FSU y ha presentado en conferencias nacionales.
Eva se identifica como una inmigrante latinx queer, multicultural, sanadora, activista interseccional y nerd en general. Aunque nacieron en el extranjero, se criaron en Miami, Florida. Disfruta leer ficción y novelas gráficas, escribir, ganchillo, herboristería, jardinería y senderismo. Durante su tiempo fuera del trabajo se la puede encontrar pasando tiempo con su familia y comunidad, haciendo trabajo mutuo basado en el herbolismo y creando.
